Police are appealing for information following an attempted theft of an ATM which caused damage to a supermarket.
Officers were called at 6:33am today (15 September) to the incident at Morrisons on Kingstown Road. Offenders attempted to remove an ATM machine by using a lime green flatbed truck before leaving the scene. The vehicle is likely to have suffered significant rear damage.
While the ATM was not stolen, damage was caused to the exterior wall of the supermarket during the incident.
Officers remain at the scene and there will be an increased police presence in the area while enquiries continue.
The store and car park is closed to the public at this time.
Detectives are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or saw any suspicious activity in the area around the time it occurred. They are particularly interested in speaking to anyone with CCTV, dashcam or doorbell footage that may assist the investigation.
Officers also ask people to report sightings of a lime green flatbed truck.
