Officers are appealing for witnesses to a collision in a car park in Carlisle.
The collision involved a blue Nissan Note and a pedestrian at approximately 3:30pm yesterday (20 June) in Sainsbury’s car park on Church Street.
The pedestrian, a woman aged in her 70s, suffered serious injuries requiring hospital treatment.
The driver of the car, a 34-year-old woman from Carlisle, was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving. She has subsequently been released on bail whilst the investigation continues.
Police are investigating the incident and are encouraging anyone who witnessed the collision or the moments leading up to it, or anyone who has dashcam which may be of assistance – or anyone else who can assist – to come forward.
