Cumbria Police is appealing for witnesses following an incident in the Salthouse Road area of Barrow this morning (1 Jan).

Police were contacted at around 7.45am this morning reporting a man had been stabbed, suffering a neck injury.

Emergency services attended and a man in his 30s was taken to hospital. He is in a stable condition with injuries not believed to be life-threatening.

An 33-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

Anyone who witnessed this incident or the moments leading up to it – or anyone who has any other information which may assist police – is urged to come forward.
