Police are appealing for witnesses to an incident in a Barrow street where a man was reportedly attacked with a bottle.

The incident occurred at approximately 3:40am today (Saturday 6 September) on Cavendish Street.

The victim, a 29-year-old man from Barrow, sustained a head injury requiring hospital treatment.

The suspect is described as being a white male, tall and of slim build. He was reportedly wearing a grey jacket, grey shorts and black socks which were pulled up high.

Officers would like to hear from those who witnessed the incident or have information on who the suspect is.
