Police are appealing for witnesses to a collision and reported dangerous as part of an investigation into an incident which has occurred in Aspatria.
Police were contacted by the North West Ambulance Service at 5:39pm today (21 July) as they attended a collision where a motorcyclist had collided with a wall on North View.
It has been reported to officers that prior to the collision there were two motorcycles driving in a dangerous manner in the area.
The motorcyclist involved in the collision has suffered a potentially serious injury – which is not believed to be life-threatening. The rider, a man in his 20s from Aspatria, has been taken to the Cumberland Infirmary for treatment.
As a result of the collision, the bike also collided with a nine-year-old girl. She has been taken to the Cumberland Infirmary for further checks, however her injuries are not believed to be serious at this time.
Police arrested a 35-year-old man, from Aspatria, on suspicion of dangerous driving and police obstruction. He remains in police custody.
Officers, who are investigating the full circumstances of this incident, are appealing for witnesses to the collision or those who observed dangerous driving prior to the incident to get in touch.
Officers are also asking for people in the area who may have relevant footage from dash cams or doorbell cameras to contact them.
