A man has been arrested following in incident in Workington this morning (10 September).
Police were contacted at around 10am to a report of a man travelling into the area with an alleged firearm.
A 33-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident and remains in police custody.
Firearms officers were deployed as a precaution and no firearm was located.
The public may see an increased police presence in the area. There is no wider risk to the public.
