Police have made an arrest as part of an investigation into two attempted robberies in Carlisle on Wednesday 4 June.
A 57-year-old man from Carlisle was arrested and remains in police custody.
Officers are appealing for any witnesses to the incidents to contact police to assist with their investigation
The first incident occurred at 3:30pm in the car park at the Halston on Warwick Road.
The second incident occurred at 3:47pm on Botchergate.
The victims both women were in their cars during the incident. Both were uninjured but are being supported by officers.
