A man who was arrested as part of an investigation which occurred at an address in Carlisle, in the early hours of 29 March, has been charged.
Leon Ingledow, 21, of Howe Street in Carlisle, was charged with attempted murder.
He appeared at Carlisle Magistrates this morning (8 April) and was remanded in custody to appear at Carlisle Crown Court on 1 May.
He was previously arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent.
Officers were made aware at 3.24am on Sunday 29 March that a man, in his thirties, had sustained a number of suspected stab wounds at an address in Edward Street.
He was taken to hospital and subsequently discharged following treatment.
Officers are appealing for anyone to contact them who saw anything suspicious in the area of Edward Street, Sybil Street and Lindisfarne Street on the night on Saturday 28 March or the early hours of Sunday 29 March.
They are also keen to hear from anyone who may have seen a grey Seat Arona, registration PY23 OES, in and around these areas or the London Road area at these times.
