Carlisle Neighbourhood Policing team have secured a criminal behaviour order to protect local businesses in the area.

The order was secured today (July 8) against Alfonso Bitton, 30, of Carlisle for two years, the conditions are Bitton must not:

  • Not to enter any premises part of the Carlisle Shopwatch/Cumbria Safer Business Partnership (Carlisle) - except McDonalds and Carlisle Library
  • Not to enter any Aldi supermarket store
  • Not to enter any Morrison’s supermarket store
  • Not to enter any Heron Foods supermarket store

The Criminal Behaviour Order follows Bitton pleading guilty to three incidents of Shoplifting, he was given a six week electronic curfew 11pm – 11am.

Community Beat Officer PC Andrew Beal said: “This Criminal Behaviour Order will prevent Bitton from further criminality and help protect business owners and local residents in Carlisle.

“I would encourage anyone who witnesses the terms of such a court order being broken to contact the police immediately.

"The punishment for breaking the terms of a CBO can be up to five years in prison.”

Anyone who witnesses Alfonso Bitton breaching the terms of his CBO should contact the police.
