Carlisle Neighbourhood Policing team have secured a Criminal Behaviour Order placing conditions on a Carlisle man.

The order was secured on 29 October against Matthew Thompson, 31, of Carlisle for three years, the conditions are Thompson must not:

  • Not to enter any Morrisons within the city of Carlisle.
  • Not to enter any Aldi store within the city of Carlisle
  • Not to enter central avenue and the streets surrounding it.

The Criminal Behaviour Order follows Thompson appearing at court where he was sentenced to two weeks in prison for theft, failing to surrender and resisting arrest.

The Criminal Behaviour Order will prevent Thompson from committing further criminality and help protect business owners and residents in Carlisle.

Anyone who witnesses the terms of such a court order being broken to contact the police immediately.

The punishment for breaking the terms of a CBO can be up to five years in prison

Anyone who witnesses Matthew Thompson breaching the terms of his CBO should contact the police.
