Carlisle’s Neighbourhood Policing team have secured a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) placing conditions on a Carlisle man.

The order was secured on 9 December at Carlisle Magistrates Court against Gary Wilson, 49, of Carlisle, for two years.

The conditions are that Wilson must not:

  • Be in possession of an open container of alcohol in a public place, unless inside a licensed venue within Carlisle City Centre
  • enter B & M Scotch Street or Tesco Stores

The Criminal Behaviour Order follows Wilson appearing at court after he stolen alcohol from B&M, Scotch Street on 21 October 2025.

The Criminal Behaviour Order will prevent Wilson from committing further criminality and help protect business owners and residents in Carlisle.

Anyone who witnesses Gary Wilson breaching the terms of his CBO should contact the police.

The penalty for breaking the terms of a CBO can be up to five years in prison.
