A man was sentenced yesterday for drug supply in Carlisle.
Christopher Lapping, aged 35, of Cant Crescent, Carlisle, was sentenced to 4 years and 3 months in prison at Carlisle Crown Court on 13 February after pleading guilty to conspiracy to supply a Class A controlled drug - cocaine.
As part of enquiries, officers seized quantities of this cocaine with an estimated street value of over £300,000.
A spokesperson from Cumbria’s Serious and Organised Crime Unit (CSOC) said: “This is a great result for the team and we hope this sentence provide a clear warning to those involved in the supply of illegal drugs.
“Our officers will continue to be proactive in disrupting those involved in drug supply and will pursue those involved at every level.
“I am pleased we have been able to take a significant amount of cocaine off the streets which would have caused harm and misery to the most vulnerable people in our society.”
The investigation forms part of Operation Alliance - Cumbria Constabulary’s ongoing response to protect the county against serious and organised crime.
