Police have released an image as part of an investigation into a report of threats to cause criminal damage report which occurred at around 1:11am on Monday 25 August on Newtown Road.
It is reported a man has placed a black jerry can containing petrol on the doorstep of a property on Newtown Road, Carlisle before taking a picture of the can and then running away in the direction of the Cumberland Infirmary.
He is described as white, with facial hair and was wearing dark clothing with his hood up, black gloves and was carrying a purple JD bag.
Officers would like to speak with the person pictured as part of the investigation.
