On Wednesday 30 July, local Penrith PCSO, Mark Robson carried out some retail premises engagement with local businesses in Penrith town centre.
These patrols, while part of a regular reassurance patrol plan, are also part of the Safer Streets Campaign which is a partnership approach to keep people safe in town centres throughout the summer months.
This period is one of the busiest times of the year for our officers and staff, with large numbers of people visiting our area to attend events and experience all that Cumbria has to offer.
With summer in full swing, officers are reminding residents and visitors how to report crime should they need to.
PCSO Mark Robson said: “As part of my patrols this summer I will continue to visit local retailers to provide reassurance and carry out crime enquiries.
“If you or your business experience crime or disorder we would like to remind you to report this to police at the earliest opportunity, so that we can take appropriate measures and act on the information.”
A person or business should call 999 when:
- a serious offence is in progress or has just been committed
- someone is in immediate danger or harm
- property is in danger of being damaged
- a serious disruption to the public is likely
If your matter is not an emergency and none of the above, please report using our non-emergency online reporting form at www.cumbria.police.uk/report-it . You can also call 101.
PCSO Robson continued: “The form is an easy way to report incidents of crime to us. There are a few yes or no questions first to make sure you go to the right online form; this information is sent directly to our control room.”
The Constabulary is committed to providing visible and effective neighbourhood policing to prevent crime and anti-social behaviour. Our officers and staff will continue to undertake patrols such as this to keep people safe.
