Emergency services have been in attendance at Ullswater, in the Mossdale Bay area, following a report of a man having got into difficulty in the water this morning.
Police were made aware of the incident by NWAS colleagues at around 9.27am this morning (21 March).
A multi-agency operation took place on the water and at around 2.25pm the body of a man aged in his early 20s was recovered.
The man’s family have been informed of developments.
Whilst the incident is not being treated as suspicious at this time, an investigation is on-going as to the circumstances leading up to the man’s death.
