
The family of a woman who died following a collision involving a pedestrian and a car in Cockermouth on 14 March have paid tribute to her life.
Catherine Sams, 74, from Cockermouth, died at the scene of the collision on Lamplugh Road.
In a tribute, her family said: “Mum was a hugely important and much-loved member of our family.
“We are all struggling to process such a sudden and traumatic loss. She will be sorely missed by friends and family alike, we are heartbroken.
"We are keen to request that our privacy is respected while we try to navigate this tragic situation.
”The collision involved a white Volvo.
Officers are continuing to appeal for witnesses or dashcam from anyone who travelled on Lamplugh Road at around 9pm and witnessed the lead up to the collision, the collision or the collision immediately after.
