Tonight, (27 February) Barrow AFC welcome Carlisle United to Holker Street for the Cumbrian Derby.

Cumbria Police are urging fans to enjoy the match responsibly and not to let any emotions from the evening spill over into anti-social or criminal behaviour.

Superintendent Matt Pearman said: “We hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable time at what should be a great fixture for Cumbrian football.

“As with any major event, public safety is our main priority and as a result, there will be a significant policing presence in Barrow and in and around Holker Street this evening.

"Football fixtures such as this expect to attract a broad range of attendees including families and children. I would urge all those attending to consider this and act responsibly.

"As would be expected, where an individual does engage in unlawful behaviour, our officers will step in and take proactive action. We will also work with both clubs to identify any offenders where necessary”.
