Four people have been arrested following an incident in the area of Strand Road, Carlisle, this morning (11 June).
Police were contacted at 11:12am to a report of a group of people in possession of an alleged firearm within a vehicle.
Firearms officers were deployed immediately to the incident and swiftly detained four people.
Two boys aged 17, one man aged 20 and a woman aged 18, have been arrested on suspicion of possession of an imitation firearm. They will be detained for questioning.
The public may see an increased police presence in the area while enquiries are being carried out. There is no wider risk to the public.
