Four people in Carlisle have been issued Community Protection Warnings (CPWs) in a bid to prevent behaviour following a number of incidents of public order, drunk and disorderly and assaults in the city centre.
This has led to intimidating and anti-social behaviour which has caused issues for local landlords, business owners, residents and visitors in the town centre.
A 43 and 38-year-old woman and a 48 and 39-year-old man issued with the warnings have the following conditions.
- You must not be found drunk in a public place
- You must not use foul or abusive language in a public place or cause nuisance to members of the public
- You must not - Not to urinate/defecate in a public place
- You must not - Not to consume alcohol from an open container in the area defined by a map provided to the individual, unless within a licensed premises in that area.
Community Beat Officer PC Beal who covers Carlisle City Centre said “Their behaviour is having a detrimental effect on the quality of life for our local community.
“We will monitor the four individuals subject to the Community Protections Warnings.
"If they are found breaching them in any way we will look to a Community Protection Notice which will enable us to deal with this behaviour in a more robust manner. "
