The Allerdale Neighbourhood Policing Team conducted extensive work to achieve a civil injunction which has been granted by the court to prevent further anti-social behaviour by Brett Dempster, 42.
Dempster is subject of the injunction until a further order is made in relation to a specific address on Station Road, Workington. The injunction prevents him from doing the following at the address:
- Engaging in conduct which causes a nuisance or annoyance
- Engaging in conduct likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress in the area of a specified address on Station Road
- Using insulting language or threatening violence against any persons residing in the area of Station Road.
- Not permit any persons visiting a specified address between 9pm and 7am
- Dempster must also not enter St Michael’s churchyard at any time without the express written permission of the Reverend in charge.
Sergeant Leesa Edwards from the Allerdale Neighbourhood Policing Team said “We are pleased that the court granted this injunction to disrupt and help improve the quality of life of those in the area.
“Without the evidence provided by partners and residents we would not have been able to act and achieve some of the effective outcomes above.
“This injunction assist us in managing Dempster’s behaviour, and if he breaches these conditions, he faces re-arrest, and the courts will have greater powers in which to sentence him.”
“We encourage any residents who are having issues within their communities to speak to their local Community Beat Officer or PCSO or alternatively report issues via Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111."
The injunction carries a power of arrest.
