Police are continuing to investigate the sudden death of a woman at a property on Whinlatter Way, Carlisle.
Officers were called at 11.23pm on 2 August 2026 following reports of concern for the welfare of a woman in her 60s.
Emergency services attended, but the woman was sadly declared deceased at the scene.
A man in his 60s was arrested in connection with the investigation and has since been released on bail whilst enquiries continue.
Detectives are working to establish the full circumstances surrounding the woman's death and enquiries remain ongoing.
Officers will remain in the area over the coming days as part of those enquiries and members of the public may continue to see an increased police presence.
