This morning (19 September) Kendal officers arrested a 26-year-old man who was wanted for a fraud offence committed in Workington.

He is currently being interviewed at Kendal Police Station.

Officers would like to remind members of the public to keep an eye out for elderly neighbours and relatives who are often targeted by rogue traders who cold call and advise that they need repairs to their homes.

Other traders may offer gardening or power washing services and can be very forceful in their manner or charge excessive amounts for the work undertaken.

There are various reputable local companies who can assist with home repairs or gardening and can conduct fully insured works complying with consumer legislation.
