A man has been remanded in custody after being charged in connection with a property fire yesterday in Denton Holme, Carlisle.
James McGlinchey, 60, appeared before magistrates in Carlisle today ( September 23 ) after being charged by the Crown Prosecution Service.
Police and Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service were alerted to a fire in Denton Street yesterday, with an investigation launched into the circumstances.
McGlinchey, of Denton Street, Carlisle, faces two charges – arson with intent to endanger life; arson with recklessness as to whether life was endangered.
The case was heard at the magistrates' court at Carlisle this morning ahead of a pre trial plea hearing at Carlisle Crown Court on October 27.
