A man had been charged with murder as part of an investigation into an unexplained death of a man in his 70s at a property on Fell Close, Silloth.
Cumbria Police were contacted at 5:35am on Monday 22 December to the report of an unresponsive man at the property who was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Brian Smith, 33, of Friars Garth, Abbeytown has been charged with murder.
He has been remanded into custody and is to appear in court tomorrow (24 December).
