Police have formally identified a man who died at an address in Silloth.
Stanley Smith, 73, of Fell Close, Silloth was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Cumbria Police were contacted at 5:35am on Monday 22 December to the report of an unresponsive man at the property.
Brian Smith, 33, of Friars Garth, Abbeytown charged with murder, is to appear in Carlisle Magistrates court today (24 December).
