A man who was given a Criminal Behaviour Order has been jailed for beaching his order a week later.
Andrew Bell, 48, of no fixed address was jailed for 20 weeks on Friday 16 May, after he appeared at Carlisle Magistrates.
Bell was given the five-year Criminal Behaviour Order on 8 May.
He breached the order on 15 May after he was located at Carlisle Train Station by an officer. He was unable to provide a valid ticket to show he was leaving the station within an hour and he was not purchasing a ticket.
Bell admitted he had been at the train station all day.
The conditions of his Criminal Behaviour Order are:
- Not to enter the City Centre of Carlisle unless whilst in transit on Public Transport or attending Carlisle train station in possession of a valid train ticket or immediately purchasing a valid train ticket and in any case to board the train in one hour. He must leave immediately once disembarking a train arriving at Carlisle train station.
- Not attend Cumberland Infirmary, Newtown Road Carlisle other than for a pre-arranged medical appointment or for treatment following an accident or emergency.
Community Beat Officer Andrew Beal from Carlisle Neighbourhood Policing Team said “Bell was aware of the conditions of his Criminal Behaviour Order and had disregard for the order by being in the train station.
“This sentence demonstrates the effectiveness of Criminal Behaviour Orders and those engaging in anti-social behaviour and breaching their orders will be arrested and put before the courts.
“We would encourage members of the public to contact us if someone with a criminal behaviour order breaches their terms. We also ask for anyone who has information about anti-social behaviour and criminality to contact us.”
