A man was jailed on Thursday 10 April at Carlisle Crown Court after his vehicle was stopped on the M6 and officers located Cocaine and Cannabis.
Oliver Purdy, 38, of Horsforth, Leeds was sentenced to two years seven month in prison for possession with intent to supply Cocaine and Cannabis.
The court heard that in October last year, police conducted a vehicle stop of a white Ford Kuga on the M6 travelling northbound past Penrith.
Officers searched the vehicle having noticed the smell of Cannabis coming from within the vehicle.
During a search of the vehicle officers located a 1kg block of cocaine in a black rucksack and 8kg of cannabis located in cardboard boxes.
The cocaine had a street value of £100,000 and the Cannabis of £80,000.
A police spokesperson from the Serious and Organised Crime Unit said “We proactively work to identify and challenge anyone suspected of being involved in drug supply.
“Thanks to the vigilance of officers we have been able to stop the vehicle containing a significant amount of Cannabis and Cocaine.”
