South Lakes Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) have this week secured two closure orders at separate properties on Kirkland View, Kendal.
Police were granted the orders at South Cumbria Magistrates Court yesterday (16 June).
The closure orders follow repeated issues of anti-social behaviour (ASB), disorder and drug use reported at both addresses.
Both orders were granted for three months, and the properties have been secured.
Terms of the closure orders mean that during this time if anyone (other than police or the landlord) found inside the addresses, they can be arrested for breach of the order.
Inspector Ross Woods, South Lakes NPT said: “Following repeated concerns from residents regarding issues at both of these properties, we are pleased the courts have granted closure orders.
“We know ASB and disorder can have a detrimental impact on our communities and we want people to feel safe where they live – which is why we look to seek orders such as these.
“The closure orders are a direct result of residents reporting issues, and our officers responding to these proactively and we will be working with our partners to ensure the three-month closures are fully enforced.
“We hope the orders secured reassure residents in the area, and the wider Kendal area that we are listening to your concerns and take issues like this seriously.
“Please continue to report issues to us so that we can take action. You can do this by visiting our website or calling 101.”
