A man has been charged after officers stopped his vehicle travelling Southbound on the M6 near Penrith on Friday afternoon (5 September).
Upon officers stopping the vehicle the driver exited the vehicle and made off from the scene, however officers quickly detained him and searched the vehicle.
Officers located a large quantity of cash and cannabis.
Santiliano Sakaj, aged 29, of Kirby Road, Leicester, has now been charged by detectives with possession with intent to supply Class B drugs and a money laundering offence.
He is due to appear before Carlisle Crown Court on 10 October 2025.
The seizure and investigation forms part of forms part of Operation Alliance - Cumbria Constabulary’s ongoing response to protect the county against serious and organised crime.
