An operation has concluded following planned protest in Carlisle this afternoon (15 Nov)

The operation resulted in one arrest at 9:30am ahead of the protest.

A 52-year-old man from Carlisle on suspicion of

  • Displaying threatening written material intent to stir hatred
  • Assault by beating of an emergency worker
  • Possession of a class B – Cannabis.

He remains in police custody.

“Our priority is always to ensure the safety of our communities, balancing the right to protest and prevent crime, disorder and disruption.”
