The driver of this vehicle was lucky to walk away after a high-speed crash near Wigton on Saturday night.
Officers are investigating but it is believed the car left the road at high speed before striking a tree some 10-feet up the trunk, before finally coming to rest 40-50 feet down the road – with the engine ejected another 10 or 20 feet.
The driver was checked over at the scene but escaped without serious injury.
However, he failed a roadside drug wipe for cannabis.
He was arrested on suspicion of drug-driving and possession of cannabis.
