Police are appealing for witnesses to the movement of a vehicle following an incident in Barrow last night ( February 27 ).

Two pedestrians, both men, were in collision with what is believed to be a white Jeep in Buccleuch Court shortly after 11.05pm.

The men – one aged in his forties and the other in his fifties - suffered serious injuries.

One was taken to Furness General Hospital in Barrow; the other was taken to Royal Preston Hospital. Both were in a stable condition today.

Three men have been arrested in connection with the incident and are in police custody today.

A vehicle suspected of being involved was seized by police on Abbey Road.

Officers are appealing for any witnesses to anything suspicious in the area of Buccleuch Street and Rawlinson Street at about 11pm or just before or afterwards to come forward.

They are particularly keen to trace the movements of a white Jeep or similar-style vehicle, potentially with a 23 number plate, in this area at about this time or after.

Anyone who saw anything or who may have relevant dashcam or doorbell footage is asked to make contact.

Anyone with information can contact police on 101, referring to incident 279 of February 27.

Residents may have seen and continue to see an increased police presence as enquiries are carried out.
