Police are investigating a single vehicle collision which occurred on Kendal Road, Bowness-on-Windermere at around 9:50pm last night (1 Jan).

It is reported two people were seen to exit the vehicle, a black Audi, after the collision and leave the scene. Officers have concerns for their welfare.

The driver, a man with a shaved head and wearing a blue Stone Island Jumper had visible injuries to his head, and a passenger, a woman in black jeans, a white shirt and bare feet, both left in the direction of Bowness village.

Officers are appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time of the collision, or who has any information that may assist officers in identifying the occupants of the vehicle, to come forward.
