Volunteers from across Cumbria Constabulary were recognised for their outstanding contributions to their communities, at this years’ Citizens in Policing Awards.
The awards evening held on 2 June, celebrated the exceptional efforts and achievements of our volunteers who, across a variety of different roles, give up their own time to serve our communities. The awards coincide with National Volunteers’ Week, celebrating the considerable efforts of individuals across the country.
Deputy Chief Constable Darren Martland and the High Sherriff of Cumbria, Dr. Geoffrey Jolliffe., presented over 30 awards and certificates, including Special Constable of the Year, Cadet of the Year, Mini Police School of the Year and Police Support Volunteer of the Year.
DCC Darren Martland commented : “We are incredibly grateful to all those who freely donate their time towards keeping the public of Cumbria safe.
“it is an honour to bring together all our dedicated volunteers to recognise and celebrate their significant achievements.
“We sincerely appreciate their selfless commitment, and are proud to have them as part of the team here in Cumbria Police.”
