Two men have been charged and remanded into custody after a vehicle stop uncovered £100,000 of ketamine.
Robbie McBride, aged 22, of Findlay Drive, Glasgow and Shaun Crotty, aged 23 of Old Dumbarton Road, Glasgow were both charged with:
- Possession with intent to supply a Class A drug- cocaine
- Failing to stop a vehicle
- Possession with intent to supply a Class B drug – ketamine
- Possession of criminal property
Officers made the discovery after stopping a vehicle both defendants were travelling in shortly after midnight on Saturday (31 Jan) near Carlisle.
Police searched the vehicle and located and seized 5kg of ketamine with a street value of £100,000 and a smaller quantity of cocaine.
Both men are due to appear before Carlisle Magistrates court today (2 Feb).
The seizure forms part of forms part of Operation Alliance - Cumbria Constabulary’s ongoing response to protect the county against serious and organised crime.
It also follows the recent Operation Abraham, which has targeted the sale of ketamine.
