A man and woman have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following an incident on Whernside, Carlisle.
Police received the report at 8:06am today (June 10) to a male with stab wounds.
Officer attended and also located a woman and child with stab wound injuries
A 55-year-old man arrested is in police custody.
A 53-year-old woman arrested remains in hospital in a stable condition.
A girl of primary school age also injured remains in hospital in a stable condition.
There continues to be no further risk to the public and they should expect to see a continue police presence in the area whilst officers carry out investigations.
